The exhibition shows how in the Euro-Mediterranean area, the production of mutual heritage is not only a phenomenon belonging to the colonial past, but it is still an activity ongoing, and how local communities gain an increasing role in this process.
The exhibition structure turns around the notion of “mutual contemporary heritage”, where the word “contemporary” not only refers to building construction era, but also to the built more or less recent, signed by a contemporary patrimonialisation (that means a value given recently). The subject of contemporary intervention on heritage has been dealt having as an unavoidable reference point the cultural debate on sustainable development, thinking of the built up heritage role, considered as a resource to protect and enforce.
